ICP Team Member Spotlight: Natan Lakonishok, Switzerland

Formally a national figure skating champion(quads) in Israel, Natan Lakonishok has been skating on some kind of wheels for nearly 40 years! In the 1990’s Natan got hooked on inline skating, easily transferring his expertise of quads to the pavement, and has  been sharing his passion and knowledge of  basic skills, speed, downhill and slides ever since. Through his skate schools in Israel, and now with Swiss Roller School in Lausanne, Switzerland,  Natan has taught hundreds of children and adults basic skills and inspired them to try one of his many specialties.

Natan served as National Speed Skating Chairman of Israel for many years and was certified by the German Speed Skating Federation in 2006. In 2014 he was certified by the ICP and serves as the ICP Industry liaison promoting the ICP to manufacturers and skaters throughout the industry and on social media.  He has worked as a product tester and in focus groups for various manufacturers in the industry such as Rollerblade, Twincam, Mircro Skates, etc. offering practical feedback from a skater’s perspective. For the last 5 years Natan has been very active in the downhill and slide community throughout Europe offering classes and courses as well as creating online community for these disciplines. 

Next up for Natan?  Natan is thrilled to be in Barcelona 11 & 12 October, 2019 along side the upcoming BCN ICP Level 1 Program 11-13 October to share some of the basics and speed control to instructors and other skaters at the BCN Slide Workshop who want to improve their own skill level or teach others the basics of this exciting segment of the sport.
